The 2007-2008 season marked Dimitri Gagulidzes first season with the Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra. He has been Principal Bass of the Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra since January 2013. Born in Tbilisi,Georgia, Dimitri began his musical training, studying piano and later double-bass. Upon graduation from Georgia Dimitri has been accepted to study at the London Royal Academy of Music in 2006. Dimitri is a winner of several Georgian competitions, performed under many of the worlds renowed conductors. He has performed at various music festivals and has toured several countries, orchestras he has performed with include the World Youth Symphony, Netherlands Youth Symphony, Tbilisi Symphony, Philharmonie der Nationen, Shenzhen Symphony, Georgian Sinfonietta and from the October 2016 he is taking position as a solo-bass player of the Georgisches Kammerorchester (Ingolstadt). He is an active chamber musician, having performed with Liana Isakadze, Joshua Bell, Ivan Monighetti, Suren Bagratuni, Randolph Kelly, Dimitri Berlinsky, Boris Slutsky, Yuri Zhislin, Radovan Vlatkovic, Sergio Azzolini, Alissa Margulis.
